Chill Out: It’s Time To Relax

Summer is the perfect season to unwind, bask in the sunshine, and rejuvenate both body and mind. At Vitality South, we understand the importance of taking a break and recharging your batteries. Here are some tips to help you relax this summer, along with a glimpse into how our team enjoys their downtime.

Tips for Relaxing This Summer:

Embrace the Outdoors: Nothing beats the tranquility of nature. Spend time outside, whether it’s a walk in the park, a hike in the mountains, or simply lounging in your backyard. The fresh air and natural surroundings can do wonders for your mental health.

Practice Mindfulness and Meditation: Taking a few minutes each day to practice mindfulness or meditation can help reduce stress and improve your overall well-being. Find a quiet spot, close your eyes, and focus on your breathing.

Stay Hydrated: Keeping yourself hydrated is crucial, especially during the hot summer months. Drinking plenty of water not only helps you stay cool but also supports your overall health.

Unplug and Unwind: Take a break from your digital devices. Limit screen time and spend more moments connecting with loved ones, reading a book, or enjoying a hobby.

Pamper Yourself: Treat yourself to a spa day, a massage, or any self-care activity that makes you feel good. Self-care is essential for maintaining a healthy balance in life.

Exercise Regularly: Physical activity is a great way to relieve stress and boost your mood. Whether it’s swimming, biking, or doing yoga, find an activity that you enjoy and make it a part of your routine.

At Vitality South, we practice what we preach. Here’s how some of our team members relax and recharge during the summer:

Ashley, President: “I like to take advantage of the longer days by spending as much time as possible outdoors. I like to take evening walks and spend as many weekends as possible camping, hiking, and boating.”

Jayme, IT Director: “Going to the beach and swimming as much as possible”

Dacey, Lead Designer: “I often love traveling and going to concerts throughout the summer to relax.”

Demetra, Marketing Manager:In the summer, I relax by playing music and basking in the sun. Besides being with my family, the beach is my happiest place in the world. I’ve tried to turn my backyard into a beach, but it turns out sand and inflatable palm trees just don’t cut it. I feed off of the sun’s energy and find myself most relaxed, enjoying fresh air, listening to Neo-soul tunes, and juggling a book in one hand and an Ethel Mae’s tea in the other.

Zach, Software Developer: “During the summer, I stay active by managing my property and tackling various projects. I spend a lot of time on tractor work, such as mowing fields and maintaining trails. Additionally, I work on building and repairing structures, landscaping, and general maintenance tasks. I enjoy the hands-on work and the satisfaction of keeping everything in top shape, which keeps me engaged and productive throughout the season.”

Megan, Web Developer: “Same way I spend most days relaxing, either playing video games, doing some writing, or just chilling on my couch with my cats while watching something.”

Calvin, IT Specialist: “I’m not much of a “beach guy”, I enjoy cooking out and then relaxing in the recliner.”

Taylor, Graphic Designer: “During the summer, I enjoy traveling and spending time outdoors listening to music, while soaking up the sun.”

Adam, Graphic Designer: “This summer, I’ll be going on my senior trip and, when I’m not traveling, I’ll spend my days learning new skills and having fun with family and friends.”

Nancy, Executive Assistant: “I enjoy listening to nature sounds. I block out the noises humans make. I open my windows and doors and listen to birds and insects. I look for the beauty in the world all around us.”

Chris, Vice President of Technology: “Camping and hanging out at the lake, mountain biking, and scuba diving at the beach when possible.”

Summer is a time to slow down, enjoy the little moments, and prioritize your well-being. We hope these tips inspire you to find your perfect way to relax this season. Remember, taking time for yourself is not just a luxury—it’s a necessity for a healthy, balanced life.

From all of us at Vitality South, chill out and enjoy the summer!
